How Pepper Foam Works
, 06 24th, 2009
Pepper foam, like pepper spray, works as an inflammatory. When used on a person, it causes that person to immediately close their eyes, and experience difficulty breathing, runny nose, and coughing. Pepper foam targets the mucus membranes in the eyes, nose, and throat, and causes them to become agitated. A single burst of pepper foam can immobilize an attacker for more three to fifteen minutes, and significant effect can be felt for half an hour, with residual effects lasting for two to six hours. Despite its ability to immobilize an attacker, pepper spray doesn’t deal long term damage unless the person has an existing condition like asthma. Pepper foam today is legal in most U.S. states, and is widely distributed.
It’s important to be aware of state pepper foam laws before purchasing the product, as it is considered a weapon in some states and can cause the owner to be fined or even risk imprisonment. There are only about five states that have regulations on pepper foam.
